The Brief
Whether in-app, in car or through a smart device, SiriusXM is always seeking new ways to showcase their entertainment platform to prospective and current users. After the departure of a production coordinator originally assigned to spearhead this project, I was tapped to continue the project planning and rollout of ten photoshoots across the span of a two-year vendor contract.
One of the goals for this project was to audit the existing pool of lifestyle stock photos that had been used in past digital ads to identify the most common use cases for these images. We then needed to work in conjunction with our chosen vendor, Shutterstock, to capture fresh new images in line with the company’s broadening target audience.
The Process
The first step in this process was to conduct a server-wide audit of stock photos, identifying the most common types of lifestyle imagery used across SiriusXM’s most visible lines of business. Post-audit and server cleanup, we identified the need for a more diverse representation of users across a larger variety of age and ethnic groups and broke these out into ten briefs to be executed over the span of two years covering year-round marketing needs.
